We want you to feel safe and comfortable as part of Tyne And Queer.
We believe it is important to create spaces that are welcoming, engaging and supportive.
Spaces where everyone is able to be themselves, but also where abuse and discrimination are not tolerated.

Please read our code of conduct below.
It explains how we all help make our events safe, friendly and inclusive.
By taking part in our work at one of our events, you agree to follow these guidelines.

Respect each other

Be kind, polite and respectful to everyone.

We challenge behaviour or language that is abusive, racist, sexist, misogynistic, ableist, classist, sizeist, ageist, homophobic or transphobic.

We are an anti-racist space.
We do not accept discrimination based on race, gender, sexuality, religion, class, age, disability or language.

Respect personal boundaries

Don’t assume everyone has the same boundaries as you.

Give people space, both physically and emotionally, unless they have invited you into it.

Get involved

Tyne And Queer is a space for sharing, connecting and taking part.

Join in, start conversations, listen to others, share your ideas and help make the space what you want it to be.

Be kind

Look out for each other.

We are all sharing this space together, so please be considerate and treat everyone with kindness and respect.

Consent matters

Always ask before doing something that involves another person.
If someone says no, or asks you to stop, stop.

Respect pronouns

Respect the pronouns people use and don’t make assumptions about how someone identifies.

If you’re unsure how someone would like to be addressed, just ask.

Before taking photos

Please ask people if they are happy to be photographed before taking their picture.

We may take photos and film at our events for our archive. We will let you know when this is happening, so you can choose not to be included.
